A short but intense hike up the Sleeping Beauty trail! It's short but steep - like the Grouse Grind, except that you have to walk down too. And out of the wilderness - the trailhead is up a 10 km dirt road. We were lucky enough to find a guy with a jeep and some spare time on his hands who offered to put it in four-wheel drive and take us up to the trailhead. But in the way back, we walked most of the way back into town - with a picnic break on the beach - before finding a ride from the campground the rest of the way into town.
On the way up the trail we spotted a large black bear, safely far away on the other side of a meadow!
